- Everything happens for a reason -

A story is told about a King in Africa who had a close friend that he grew up with. The friend had a habit of looking at every situation that ever occurred in his life (positive or negative) by remarking, "This is good, Allah Almighty knows best" One day the King and his friend were out on a hunting expedition. The friend would load and prepare the guns for the King. The friend had apparently done something wrong in preparing one of the guns, for after taking the gun from his friend, the King fired it and his thumb was blown off. Examining the situation the friend remarked as usual, "This is good! Allah Almighty knows best." To which the King replied, "No, this is NOT good!" and ordered his soldiers to put his friend into jail.

About a year later, the King was hunting in an area that he should have known to stay clear of. Cannibals captured the King and took him to their village. They tied his hands, stacked some wood, set up a stake and bound him to t! he stake. As they came near to set fire to the wood, they noticed that the King was missing a thumb. Being superstitious, they never ate anyone who was less than whole. So after untying the King, they chased him out of the village.

When the King reached his Palace, he was reminded of the event that had taken his thumb and felt remorse for his treatment of his friend. He went immediately to the jail to speak with his friend.

"You were right" the King said, "it was good that my thumb was blown off." And he proceeded to tell the friend all that had just happened. "I am very sorry for sending you to jail for so long. It was bad for me to do this." "No," his friend replied, "this is good...Allah Almighty knows best" "What do you mean, 'this is good'! How could it be good that I sent my friend to jail for a year?"

The King's friend replied: "Remember that the Almighty knows best and if I had NOT been in jail, I would have been with you on that hunting trip."

"He knows what is before them And what is behind them: And to Allah go back All questions (for decision)" Qur'an:Surah Al Hajj 22:76

Do Not Judge Things or Events by its Immediate Outcome! Allah Almighty, the Most High, is the All-Knowledgable, the All-Knower... He chooses to show us things... but sometimes... we are not shown the wisdom behind somethings. When we are confronted by circumstances that are not very pleasing.... we are quick to say: "This is not good..." but... is it really? We might not know the purpose behind it. It might turn to be a good thing.... thus.. .when we are faced with any situation... do not be too quick to judge... always remember.... this life is a test... the good and the bad.... and there is nothing that happens for no reason...our brains are just not gifted enough to understand these reasons yet. Everything happens to us for a reason.

Poem - Why the rib?

Woman was made from the rib of man,
She was not created from his head to top him,
Nor form his feet to be stepped upon,
She was made from his side to be close to him,
From beneath his arm to be protected by him,
Near his heart to be loved by him.

- The Price of Imaan -

Several years ago an Imaam moved to London. He often took the bus from his home to the downtown area. Some weeks after he arrived, he had occasion to ride the same bus. When he sat down, he discovered that the driver had accidentally given him twenty pence too much change. As he considered what to do, he thought to himself, you better give the twenty pence back. It would be wrong to keep it. Then he thought, "Oh forget it, it's only twenty pence. Who would worry about this little amount? Anyway, the bus company already gets too much fare; they will never miss it. Accept it as a gift from Almighty Allah and keep quite. "

When his stop came, the Imaam paused momentarily at the door, then he handed the twenty pence back to the driver and said " Here, you gave me too much change."
The driver with a smile replied " Aren't you the new Imaam in this area? I have been thinking lately about going to worship at your mosque. I just wanted to see what you would do if I gave you too much change."
When the Imaam stepped off the bus, his knees became weak and soft. He had to grab the nearest light pole and held for support, and looked up to the heavens and cried "Oh Allah, I almost sold Islam for twenty pence!"

Remember, we may never see the impact our actions have on people. Sometimes we are the only knowledge of Quran someone will read, or the only Islam a non-Muslim will see. What we need to provide, InshaAllah is an example for others to see. Be careful and be honest everyday, because you never know who is watching your actions and judging you as a Muslim.
Allah watches over you every instance.

~~~~
Subhanallah... A usual encounter in our daily life, eh? Our Deen does not cost 20 pence, Na'udzubillah! Tepuk dada tanye iman... =)
- The teacup -
There was a couple who used to go to England to shop in the beautiful stores. They both liked antiques and pottery and especially teacups. This was their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary.
One day in this beautiful shop they saw a beautiful teacup. They said, "May we see that? We've never seen one quite so beautiful." As the lady handed it to them, suddenly the teacup spoke.
"You don't understand," it said. "I haven't always been a teacup. There was a time when I was red and I was clay. My master took me and rolled me and patted me over and over and I yelled out, 'Let me alone', but he only smiled, 'Not yet.'
"Then I was placed on a spinning wheel," the teacup said, "and suddenly I was spun around and around and around. Stop it! I'm getting dizzy! I screamed. But the master only nodded and said, 'Not yet.'
Then he put me in the oven. I never felt such heat. I wondered why he wanted to burn me, and I yelled and knocked at the door. I could see him through the opening and I could read his lips as he shook his head, 'Not yet.'
Finally the door opened, he put me on the shelf, and I began to cool. 'There, that's better', I said. And he brushed and painted me all over. The fumes were horrible. I thought I would gag. 'Stop it, stop it!' I cried. He only nodded, 'Not yet.'
Then suddenly he put me back into the oven, not like the first one. This was twice as hot and I knew I would suffocate. I begged. I pleaded. I screamed. I cried. All the time I could see him through the opening nodding his head saying, 'Not yet.'
Then I knew there wasn't any hope. I would never make it. I was ready to give up. But the door opened and he took me out and placed me on the shelf. One hour later he handed me a mirror and I couldn't believe it was me. It's beautiful. I'm beautiful.'
'I want you to remember, then,' he said, 'I know it hurts to be rolled and patted, but if I had left you alone, you would have dried up. I know it made you dizzy to spin around on the wheel, but if I had stopped, you would have crumbled. I knew it hurt and was hot and disagreeable in the oven, but if I hadn't put you there, you would have cracked. I know the fumes were bad when I brushed and painted you all over, but if I hadn't done that, you never would have hardened; you would not have had any color in your life. And if I hadn't put you back in that second oven, you wouldn't survive for very long because the hardness would not have held. Now you are a finished product. You are what I had in mind when I first began with you'.
MORAL: "Allah" knows what He's doing for all of us. He is the potter, and we are His clay. He will mold us and make us, so that we may be made into a flawless piece of work to fulfill His good, pleasing, and perfect will, which we can never escape.
please be strong, for Allah's sake. ='(
Salaam'alaykum
Yes, I always get emotional every time a picture of my friends appears on the PC screen. =(
How I miss them so...
Well, we were at the Saudi Aramco Exhibition at Marina Square, on Saudi Arabia's National Day. Heh, it was the day before the first of Ramadan, which was then followed by our Preliminary Examinations, next was Hari Raya Puasa and the ultimate of all, our GCE 'O' level.
Speaking Ramadan and Hari Raya Puasa, I recall my self not going out- celebrating - the festive Eid with my friends. You know, the house-visiting and all. I remember how hard it was to resist. But I guess it was all worth it. My mother was right after all. Studies come first. Syukran Ummi. (k walaupun Ummi tak tau pun Adida ade blog, tetap nak thank ummi.=D)
In fact, through my the years at MWTI, I have not gone house-visiting with my sisters at all....
'afwan akhawati... bukan ana tak nak, tapi keadaan asyik tak mengizinkan..=(( I still love my dearies a lot. And this year, I guess I will not be able to fulfill my wish again- celebrating with them. Not even with my family, I suppose. Will I be able to cope? By Allah's Will.. Amin..
Remember me in your prayers.
Wassalaam.
Great, eh?? =D
Okay, so call me slow. (heh. I know I am. Ade internet pun, baru tau psl Qura'an Explorer.-_-")
I don't care(heh) but so far this is like -wow- the far most interesting discoveries, for me. (hah! klw discover uranium mcm Marie Curie tak pe jgk~)
Nah, this is far more valuable than that (erk, to me lah.kui kui kui.)
Qur'an Explorer is very user-friendly. I love it! It is like an online FathurRahman, equipped with the translation of the holy Qur'an, along with the reciter/s. (plural eh? ) Yep, there are Syeikh Mishari Rashid Al-Afasi, Abdullah Basit, Imam Sudais and others.
So...is that cool or what? ^-^
p/s: Alhamdu lillah.. do visit here aite.
oh oh~ before I go, a humble present for my dearest whom had just turned 17 yesterday.. ;)
Dear sohibul jamaal Ukhti Atiqah, Eidul milaad sa'eed. Kullu 'am wa anti bikher. Allahu yubaarik fiiki ya habibati. May you be like the Al-'Atiq, the close companion of the Prophet pbuh. Ameen.. (i hope you like this hadiyyah. =))
- The role of the mind -
A man came to Iyas Ibn Mu'awiyah, a Muslim judge famous for his wisdom, and the following conversation took place between them:
Man: What is the Islamic ruling regarding wine?
Judge: It is Haram (Forbidden).
Man: How about water?
Judge: It is Halal (Permissible).
Man: How about dates and grapes?
Judge: They are Halal.
Man: Why is it that all these ingredients are Halal, and yet when you combine them, they become Haram?
The Judge looked at the man and said: If I hit you with this handful of dirt, do you think it would hurt you?
Man: It would not.
Judge: How about if I hit you with this handful of straw?
Man: It would not hurt me.
Judge: How about a handful of water?
Man: It surely would not hurt me.
Judge: How about if I mix them, and let them dry to become a brick, and then hit you with it, would it hurt you?
Man: It would hurt me and might even kill me!
Judge: The same reasoning applies to what you asked me!!
Salaam'alaykum
It seems to me that I have not blogged about my personal life for quite some time.
(hah! Well, that's good isnt it?)
Heh. Okay okay I won't bore readers with my personal recount. Am just reflecting back my cousin's wedding ceremony last Sunday. It has been a week though and it was on the 12th of Rabii'ul Awwal. *beams*
A memorable date eh? May sis Raudhah's marriage and life will be full of barakah. Ameen. =)
Well, the event was a joyous one- mestilah, sape tak suke kahwin kan? *hihihi*
Apart from uniting two people with a sacred bond, I managed to meet up with those wacky cousins of mine. Oh what joy! Kene kacau pun kacau lah..yg penting ukhuwwah..
Oh and with the presence of the beloved DigiSLR, which belongs to my sister, well yeah, the cousins are at the wackiest (err..i guess).
Hmm.. Upon hearing the nikah sermon, I was kinda touched. syahdu benar..
And within a day, there were 103 shots taken. Unneccessary shots, mostly. (heh.)
Ah ni uh Kak Ngah the Paparazzi amik. -_-"
That's Rosli my only guy cousin who is the same age as me. Mase tu tgh tk org main bola.. Ade je komen (ke kritikan?) si Rosli.. Heh.
Hmm..k dah..Terimbas balik zaman kanak2 dulu..zaman nakal2..(k skrg pun nakal tapi kurang sikit).. ni lagi satu- syahdu jgk.. Rindu nye main Police & Thief. Yang si thief bukan merompak, tapi setakat buat adegan hisap rokok jer, nanti si police dtg menyerbu. Merepek kan? (tau...)
And now, whenever there is a family gathering/function, my Pak Ngah would say
"Eh, ni tinggi nye...tinggi dari kakak.." ye Pak Ngah, saye kan Giant. Kakak2 saye Princess.
Hmm...speaking of Giant, I miss reading Doraemon comics! Argh! (lol. bace buku2 arab dulu. degil lah hafizah)
Aite then. I think I have babbled enough. Dont you think so? Ilaa muqaabalah marrah ukhra..
insya Allah.
Wassalaamu'alaykum..
Forgive Me When I Whine
by Zain Bikha
Today, upon a bus I saw a girl with golden hair,
And in my heart I wished that I was just as fair
When suddenly she rose to leave, I saw her hobble down the aisle.
She had one leg and wore a crutch, but as she passed, a smile.
Oh Allah, Oh Allah, forgive me when I whine.
I have 2 legs to walk upon and the world is mine.
I stopped to buy some candy; met a boy who had such charm.
We talked, he seemed so happy, if I were late, it do no harm.
And as I left, he said to me, "Thank you, you've been so kind.
It's nice to talk with folks like you. You see," he said, "I'm blind."
Oh Allah, Oh Allah, forgive me when I whine.
I have 2 eyes to see the world and the world is mine.
Later that day on my way, I saw a boy with eyes of blue.
He watched the other children play; he did not know what to do.
I stopped a moment, then I said, "Why don't you join the others, dear?"
He kept on looking straight ahead and then I knew he could not hear
Oh Allah, Oh Allah, forgive me when I whine.
I have 2 ears to hear the world and world is mine.
With legs to take me where I'd go.
With eyes to see the sunset glow.
With ears to hear what I'd know
Oh the world is mine
I stopped for a moment, just look how much I have
Everywhere, in all our lives, these are His signs
Oh Allah, Oh Allah, forgive me when I whine.
I have been blessed indeed, and the world is mine
Oh Allah, Oh Allah, forgive me when I whine.
I have been blessed indeed, and the world is mine
O Allah, do forgive me when i whine..='(
The Prophet
by Dawud Wharnsby Ali
Mohamed Allaihisalaam
Sat quietly in the evening.
His companion asked,
“Oh beautiful man,
Why do you sit here grieving?”
My ummah, those who follow me,
The future of their faith
Makes me worry till I cry.
My brothers and sisters in Islam
Will they be strong and carry on after I die.
The Prophet stood silently and prayed,
His beard becoming wet as he cried for all his fears.
Oh Allah! Don’t let this nation fade,
As he pleaded through the night the earth around him filled with tears.
My ummah, those who follow me,
The future of their faith
Makes me worry till I cry.
My brothers and sisters in Islam
Will they be strong and carry on after I die.
~
A stillness fell over the land,
Companions gathered near to where the Prophet laid.
As Aysha his wife held tight to his hand,
The Prophet spoke again before he passed away.
My ummah, those who follow me,
The future of their faith
Makes me worry till I cry.
My brothers and sisters in Islam
Will they be strong and carry on after I die.
My ummah, those who follow me,
The future of their faith
Makes me worry till I cry.
My brothers and sisters in Islam
Will they be strong and carry on after I die.
Believers, brothers and sisters in Islam,
Will we be strong and carry on until we die?
***
hmm.. tepuk dada, tanya iman.
O Allah, grant us strength and Your guidance so we will be strong to carry on until we die. Ameen.
